THE SUN CHARIOT 12 CM

The Sun Chariot is a replica of a grave find.
The original Sun Chariot was found in Trundholm Bog in 1902 and dates from the Bronze Age approx. 1400 BC.
The sculpture is patinated green with dark details and gold leaf is applied to the front site of the sun disc.
It is stamped with Nordisk Metalkunst's raven and Denmark.

The Sun Chariot tells us about teh religion of the Bronze Age and what people belived in, in the Bronze Age more than 3000 years ago.
The peolpe in the Bronze Age believed that a devine horse pulled the sun across the sky, during the day, and helped the sun through the darkness of the underworld at night.
The Sun Chariot was used so the priests could show the movement of the sun across the sky, by driving the Sun Chariot forward
The Sun disc is decorated with spirals and it tells, that the Sun Chariot is of Nordic origin and the spiral is a symbol of the sun's rise and fall.
